Complete free email monitoring, SMTP setup, and diagnostics without a license key or account.

== Description ==
Monitor WordPress mail attempts, inspect redacted logs, troubleshoot sending, configure encrypted SMTP credentials, export logs, and set retention. Subjects are off by default. Message bodies and attachment contents are never logged. SMTP is optional: normal WordPress mail continues in monitor mode. A successful send means transport acceptance, not guaranteed inbox delivery.

All included functionality is free without quotas or a trial. The separately distributed premium edition adds opt-in failure alerts, signed HTTPS webhooks, and scheduled agency summary reports. Free does not contain or install those premium features. Compare editions at https://deluxeplugins.com/product/anixem-mail-sentinel/.

== Installation ==
Upload and activate. Open Mail Sentinel in the WordPress dashboard. Review monitoring and retention settings. SMTP connects only to the server you explicitly configure; obtain that provider's host, port, encryption, and credentials. Provider charges and terms are separate. Use the diagnostics and deliberate test-email action to verify your mail configuration.

== Privacy ==
No telemetry or licensing requests. Recipient addresses in logs are masked and their lookup fingerprints are keyed. Logging subjects requires administrator opt-in. SMTP passwords are encrypted; changing WordPress salts may require re-entering them. The optional SMTP service receives outgoing email as configured by the administrator. WordPress privacy export and erasure integrations are included. See docs/SECURITY.md for details.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==
= Can I upgrade without losing logs or SMTP settings? =
Yes. The separate paid edition uses the same data and encrypted credentials. If both plugins are active, Free yields to the paid edition to prevent duplicate capture. Uninstalling Free preserves shared data while the paid package is installed. Otherwise data deletion follows the explicit uninstall preference.
= Does this prove inbox delivery? =
No. The log records WordPress/SMTP transport results. Spam filtering, bounces, and recipient delivery require your email provider's evidence.

== Changelog ==
= 1.0.0 =
Complete free monitoring, diagnostics, SMTP, privacy, retention, and export edition.

= 1.0.1 =
Use a unique uninstall function so deleting Free and paid together cannot cause a PHP function-name collision. Shared data retention behavior is unchanged.
